Swaledale Road Runners

Records tumbled at the James Herriot Trail Run on July 31st, a 14K course along moorland tracks above Castle Bolton in Wensleydale.

New course records were set for both men and women, with Robert Cole of Newham and Essex Beagles finishing in 51.58 and Louise Brown of Scarborough AC finishing in 58.16.

There were also some excellent performances from Swaledale Runners with the ladies' team prize going to Swaledale, thanks to excellent performances from Jackie Keavney, Erika Johnson, Julie Tanner and Ros Blackmore. Erika picked up the prize for 2nd V35 while Jackie Keavney was unlucky to miss out on a V45 prize considering that she ran a time 10 minutes faster than last year's V45 winner. There were also some swift times for the men, with Derek Parrington keeping just ahead of Neil Bowmer as they finished in 43rd and 49th places respectively.
