Swaledale Road Runners

Congratulations to all the runners who completed the Richmond Castle 10K and of course to all those whose hard work made the event run so smoothly.

This year's race had the youngest winner in the history of the event, as 16 year old Marc Scott of Richmond and Zetland Harriers led the field home in 33.50. First lady to finish was Angie Watson of Birtley AC, in a time of 42.00. Both the ladies' and the men's team prizes were won by Sunderland Strollers.

While many Swaledale Runners were busy organising and marshalling the race, 22 club members were able to take part. There were a number of strong performances from the men, who came second in the team event. There were several prizes among the ladies, with the ever-improving Amy Cassar finishing as 4th lady in 45.48. Julie Tanner was 2nd over 35 in 47.02 and Liz Sowter was 2nd over 50 in 50.03.
